This kit is to be used with the classic children's story Goodnight Moon that has prepared children for bed for generations. The gentle and predictable format of the story describes the contents of a bedroom from a red balloon, to an old lady whispering 'hush' and then tells each of the items 'goodnight.' The common vocabulary and manner in which most items are named two times in the text of the story encourages language production, and the everyday items named ensure familiarity on the child's part. This kit is wonderful for focusing on vocabulary development, receptive identification of common items, sound production, social skill development, awareness of a daily routine, visual scanning to find items named, attention span development, and pretend play skills. Children enjoy matching the tangible objects to the items shown in the pictures and imitating the action described in the story with the items presented in front of them.

This kit comes in a re-closable sturdy container and includes all of the objects to tell the story. If the object occurs in the text, you have the object in your kit to re-tell the story.

Each kit comes with an "Ideas for Use" card which provides great tips on how to use the kit with children of various ages and skill levels.
